What should I wear?

We all wear suits and dresses around here. Just kidding. You'll find some of us do dress up, others don't. So long as you don't dress for a day at the beach, you'll be fine wearing whatever makes you comfortable. We are far more concerned with you just being here than in what you wear.

+
What kind of music do you sing?

We are careful about our music selections at Harvest Baptist. We feel that music, in the context of a church service, only has one main purpose -- to glorify God. With this goal in mind, you will find that music at Harvest Baptist consists mostly of traditional hymns and choruses.

+
What versions of the Bible do you use?

We are, without apology, a King James Version only church.

+
What are your services like?

All our services follow this basic format: we open in prayer, sing a few songs, then listen to a 30 minute or so message. Services usually last about 50 minutes. We are currently constrained to two room, so only offer two Sunday School classes: one for kids through 6th grade and one for adults and teens. Regardless of which service you attend, you will find our focus is always on glorifying God and the teaching of God's Word straight from the Bible.

What kind of people will I find at Harvest Baptist?

You will find a wide variety of people at Harvest Baptist from infants to over 80. Some of us work, others don't. Some of us have children, others don't. Some of us are married, others aren't. Some of us are retired, some of us have careers, some of us attend college, and some of us are still in school. Though we are all very different, the common threads among us are a sincere desire to draw closer to God and serve Him more fully and a genuine love for one another. We think of each other as family around here and try to treat each other accordingly. The point is, no matter where you come from, you're going to be warmly welcomed and you're going to fit right in.

What about my kids?

We love kids at Harvest Baptist. We view kids as one of our most important ministries at Harvest Baptist. Our goal is to fully support you in teaching your children about God, the way of salvation, and good Biblical principles. For this reason, we offer several "just for kids" ministries.

  • A nursery, staffed by caring volunteers, is available during any service for children ages 0-5.
  • Sunday School is available for childern ages 3-12.
  • Harvest Kids is our youth program we run on Thursday nights for kindergarten through 6th grade. This is an especially fun time for us and the kids as we spend time playing games, teaching them a lesson from God's Word, and listening to a message prepared especially for little ears by Pastor Whittemore. Harvest Kids runs from September through May and starts at 6:30.
  • Vacation Bible School is run for one week during the summer.
  • If you are unable to personally bring your children to Sunday School or Harvest Kids, we'll gladly pick them up and drop them off for you. Just give us a call.
